Melways Highlights from April to June 2013

3 months of Melways musical bliss, here are the stand out events:

1. FAA youth awards at the national folk festival

We were very privileged to be nominated and chosen to participate in this concert. The abilities and talents of all the contestants were outstanding. This years winners The Mae trio blew our collective socks off!

2. The Melways Play the Wesley Anne Sunday residency

We had an amazing time playing the Wesley Anne Sunday afternoons in May. Thanks to Damien for booking us and the Wesley Anne staff for looking after us, it was a great opportunity to get our music to new audiences.

3. Lindsey Meldrum EP launch

We launched my new solo EP at Neighbourhood House in Brunswick on the 10th of May. We had a great crowd and the wonderful Mandy Connell as our support act. The hall was a lovely acoustic venue and the staff very friendly. I would recommend it to musos looking for an intimate space.

4. The National Celtic Festival at Port Arlington

We had 3 fab gigs to beautiful listening audiences in picturesque Port Arlington.  It was cold, but the Grand Hotel (the central pub) where we were staying was warm and firing late into the night. I also taught a vocal workshop to a lovely group of singers who I thoroughly enjoyed working with.

5. Still to come

The 19th of June will be the ‘Get Lost Lindsey’ Goodbye Extravaganza at Some Velvet Morning in Clifton Hill. Be there or be a silly billyMELWAYS_1792.
