The first phase of the January craziness is complete, with Cygnet Folk Festival finishing up on the 8th. It was the best line up I have ever seen at Cygnet and I enjoyed everything I heard in an over-excited-saucer-eyed state.
Heading home to Melbourne tonight and then on to Illawarra Folk Festival the day after to sing with the Mandy Connell band. It will be my first time at a festival in NSW, and I’m looking forward to meeting some new folk-musically inclined people and catching up with some oldies.
Straight from Illawarra to Campaspe Downs for another Celtic Southern Cross Summer School, where I will spend a week singing, singing, singing, with Nicole Murray and John Thompson (Cloud Street.)
Then back to Melbourne for some intense practice time with Jeremy before the two of us head to Newstead for a weekend of silly fun and outfits and good wine and music.
Feeew! Just writing about it is exhausting, but ironically also exhilarating as I think of all the great times to come.
Over and Out,
